2025 Sanders County Dust Control Program

Sanders County will accept dust control applications using magnesium chloride only on county-maintained gravel roads. Magnesium chloride is a temporary product that is not guaranteed to suppress dust completely.

The proposed dust control for a location must be at least 300 feet long. The application must be accompanied by a map of the location and full payment by check or money order made payable to "Sanders County."

Dust control applications may be denied or delayed due to pending road improvements or annexations, weather, road conditions, and/ or the availability of the Road Department or the Applicator to participate. After the dust suppressant is applied, the County will continue to maintain the road as needed. The County will only participate in dust control applications once per section of road per year.

If you have any questions, please contact your district's road foreman. County road crews will mark, prep, and water the sites the day before treatment is applied.

To obtain an application for the Dust Control Program, see "Related Documents/Forms" below or contact Cassandra Ward at 406-827-6966.
